Whales, eagles, a bear and surf, could this day get any better! I have been painting on the northern east and west part of Vancouver Island (Alert Bay, Port McNeil, Port Alice and Port Hardy) for over a week.  Every day is a new adventure with incredible subject matter, from old fishing canneries, docks, beached boats, old buildings and lastly wonderful totem poles.  Living the plein air painter's dream in the Northwest Pacific.
